Welcome to Norfolk Deaf Children's Society
The Norfolk Deaf Children's Society (Norfolk DCS), which is affiliated to the National Deaf Children's Society, was originally set up in 1962 and comprised of a group of individuals concerned with deafness and deaf issues in their local community. The Society today is made up of parents of deaf children, young deaf people, people who work with deaf children and friends and families of both deaf children and of the Society.
We are a Registered Charity No: 210069.
The Society is parent led and is run purely on a voluntary basis. We aim to support all deaf children, young deaf people and their families in overcoming the challenges of childhood deafness.
We run a monthly youth club on the last Saturday of each month, 10am - 1pm at the Deaf Community Centre in Norwich or external outings. We organise different activities for deaf children and their siblings at these youth clubs and it is a great opportunity for the parents to get together.
We organise a wide range of activities throughout the year for our members. We also have an annual Christmas party and a visit to the Pantomime. If you wish to see what we have planned, please see our Facebook page.
We welcome new members/families.
If you have any queries or require any further information about the Society, please contact our Secretary - Cerian Hutchings - info@norfolkdcs.co.uk
